Fritz Ketchum earned her M.F.A. with Honors in Directing/Acting
from the University of Georgia, where she studied with
noted directors Stuart Vaughan and August Staub. She
received her B.A. with Honors in Directing from Knox
College in Galesburg, Illinois. Ms. Ketchum has directed
professionally for numerous theaters in Athens, Atlanta,
and Savannah, Georgia, directing many mainstage and
musical productions, including a touring production
of Guys and Dolls. Dallas credits include serving
as Production Manager for New Arts Theater (Equity LORT
B) under Artistic Director Stephen Hollis. While on
the faculty at El Centro College in Dallas, Ms. Ketchum
served as Lighting Designer for the Dallas Children’s
Theater, (under Robyn Flatt), The Dallas Black Dance
Theatre, El Centro Theater and other professional productions.
Ms. Ketchum has served on several theatre faculties
at universities and colleges in the Dallas/Fort Worth
area, including the University of Texas at Arlington,
Cedar Valley College and Tarrant County College. While
at UTA, Ms. Ketchum taught Acting IV/Period Styles,
Directing II/Period Styles, Voice and Movement II/Shakespeare
and Commedia, Acting for Film, Acting I and Theatre
Survey courses. She also directed a touring production
for the Theatre Arts Department and served as Style
Master on the department’s production of She
Stoops to Conquer.
She is currently represented by the Ivett Stone Agency.
Her screenwriting credits include two national videos
for the American Heart Association. Credits in non-profit
management include Public Relations Director for the
Science Place Museum in Dallas, and Director of Public
Programs for the Dallas Arboretum, Ms. Ketchum’s
company, Ketchum Communications (DBA) serves local and
national clients. Ms. Ketchum lives in Duncanville with
her husband David, and their teens, Kevin, Lauren and
Colleen.
