JERITA FOLEY BUSCHMAN THEATRE DEDICATION PHOTOS
BENEDICTION for the Jerita Foley Buschman Theatre
November 19, 2005
Tonight we officially rename this space the Jerita
Foley Buschman Theatre.
May this Theatre continue its heritage as holy
ground, a place where hallowed stories of all
kinds are told.
May the stories that are enacted here be of all
styles, shapes, and sizes:
Stories that are:
Ancient and Innovative
Important and Slight
Complex and Simple
Hilarious and Disheartening
Profane and Profound
May this theatre be a sanctuary for the soul
– a place where we come
To be enlightened
To be challenged
To be delighted
To be troubled
To be reminded
To be entertained
To be warned
To be ennobled
To be inspired
Finally, may the Jerita Foley Buschman Theatre
be an intersection where the loftiest ideals of
art and education merge. May it be a place where
all of us – artists and audiences alike
– come to learn better what it means to
be human.
Amen.
