STAFF MEMBER

CANDACE CARLISLE

Administrative Assistant
Box Office Supervisor

Candace Carlisle

Candace Carlisle joins Theatre TCU after spending 3 years commuting between Fort Worth and Dallas. In Dallas, she served as an Administrative Assistant to the Temerlin Advertising Institute in the Meadows School of the Arts at SMU. In her role as Administrative Assistant, she served as the assistant to the Institute’s Distinguished Chair & Director, Dr. Patricia A. Alvey, as well as being responsible for all student-related matters within the Institute and event management for all events hosted by the Institute. The main event she was responsible for was the ExxonMobil Lecture Series which focused on ethics in advertising, media and communications. The most recent lectures featured SMU alum Hal Curtis, Creative Director, Wieden + Kennedy and Gary Knell, CEO, Sesame Workshop. Oh, and Grover made an appearance too.

Prior to that, Candace served as the Manager of Volunteers & Youth Services at the Louisiana Capital Area Chapter of the American Red Cross in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. There she worked in a supporting role to all volunteers associated with the chapter. There were two main groups of volunteers she supported. First, the disaster volunteers who responded to disasters of all types and scales, 24-7, 365 days a year. On average, LCAC volunteers would respond to 400 single family emergencies in a single year in the 10 parish area that the chapter served. These same volunteers also respond to disasters that affected the community at large – including tornados, flooding, tropical storms, hurricanes, etc. The other group of volunteers were the health and safety volunteers who came together to provide first aid support to all LSU home football, basketball, softball, and baseball games, as well as any other events where their services are requested in the Baton Rouge metropolitan area. These volunteers came together to form the single largest first aid station operation in the American Red Cross every home football game at LSU in cooperation with LSU, East Baton Rouge Emergency Services, East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office, East Baton Rouge Police, Louisiana State Troopers, and Acadian Ambulance.

Away from the office, you will find Candace and her husband, Fernando, living their beloved South Louisiana lifestyle complete with: a love for all things LSU, a Cajun microwave (that’s still waiting on the hog their neighbor promised them), an iron cauldron that will serve 100 people jambalaya, impromptu dinners for friends, a Wrangler 4x4 to get them to where they need to go, and a Labrador named Keely. To them it’s not heaven, its joie de vivre.
