Individual Accomplishments:
Marie Auxier (freshman) will
be performing as Lady Mabelle in Irving Community Theatre's
"Once Upon A Mattress" this July
and August.
Jeanine Bartel (alumni) I recently wrapped the indie feature Eavesdrop which will be heading to Sundance this month. I am halfway through shooting the lead in a romantic comedy, "Driving Me Crazy" with Joe Bologna, Renee Taylor, Louise Lasser, Sam Coppola, and Mickey Rooney. (Pretty amazing stories they have, I'll tell ya!) Shooting a comedic short called "Love Online" in the interim. Have a Ford Edge commercial running in the Tri-State area with Derek Jeter and an episode of Law &Order; Criminal Intent which keeps popping up and is still plugging along =).
Laura Campbell (freshman)
will be an apprentice with the Straw Hat Players at
Minnesota State University-Moorhead.
Carolyn
Carr (senior) will be a technician this
summer at the American Dance Festival, and will then
become the Assistant Lighting Designer with Texas Ballet
Theatre.
Marissa Doerfler
(junior) and Jill Browning
(freshman) will be employed in the Costume Department
at the Houston Ballet this summer.
Sarah Elizondo
(sophomore) will be working as the Chief Intern at Amphibian
Productions in Fort Worth this summer.
Amanda Gupton (senior) Amanda will be performing as Belle in Artisan Center Theater's production of Beauty and the Beast in August and September 2007.
Josh Herod (senior)
recently played Tony in West Side Story for
the Eisemann Center Theatre, Seymour in Little Shop
of Horrors for Repertory Company Theatre, music
directed Fiddler on the Roof for Artisan Center
theatre, and will be playing bass and singing all summer
at Six Flags Over Texas for their house band, The Rodeo
Monkeys.
Babs Ipaye (junior)
will be in Cats at the Repertory Company Theatre
and in South Pacific at Casa Manana at Bass
Hall this summer.
Benton Jennings (alum) will be performing in the upcoming production of Requiem For A Heavyweight at Theatre Unlimited in Los Angeles, produced by SkyPilot Prods. He last worked with SkyPilot in November-December 2006 in the critically acclaimed production Hell Cab. So far for 2007, he has appeared in two comedy "bits" for Jimmy Kimmel Live, he will appear in an upcoming episode of Scrubs on NBC, and recently shot The Call a new pilot of ABC.
Kevin Long (senior)
has been accepted into the USC Graduate School of Cinema
and Television.
Harry Parker
(faculty) will be directing Side By Side By
Sondheim at Circle Theatre in Fort Worth this summer.
Megan Penney (alumni) I've done a lot of Shakespeare around DFW this past year - last summer I played The Princess of France in Love's Labour's Lost for Shakespeare Dallas, and this past fall, I played Juliet in Romeo & Juliet for Stagewest - and I got to perform it in Bass Hall!
Michael Skinner
(faculty) will be working with Zoom.7 Inc. in Dallas
on the technical production work for the upcoming Mary
Kay, Inc. Seminars this summer in Dallas.
Ashley Smith
(junior) will be performing for her 3rd year (7th season)
at Six Flags Over Texas. She is serving as the Show
Captain for “Showboat’s Coming”
running in the Crazy Horse Saloon.
Sean Urbantke (senior) has
been accepted to the University of Maryland’s
MFA program in Scenic Design with a full graduate assistantship
and tuition waiver.
Judd Vermillion (Technical
Director) was the Scenic Designer and Production Technical
Director for Ector Theatricals in Odessa, Texas for
their 2005 summer season of Beauty and the Beast,
and Anything Goes. In November, 2005, he served
as the guest Scenic Designer for The University of Dallas'
production of Love and Intrigue. He was recently
elected "Member at Large" to the Board of
Directors of USITT-Southwest.
T.J. Walsh will be performing
his solo play Pleading Infinity at this year’s
New York International Fringe Festival in New York City
in August, 2006. The story concerns Bob Donovan, a Hollywood
screenwriter, wrestling with such questions as near
death experiences, ghosts, miraculous births, the creation
of the universe, the nature of art and, finally, the
meaning of life.
Abby West (freshman) with
serve as an intern in Literary Management at the Florida
Studio Theatre in Sarasota this summer. |
